Q1. Is a candidate required to be present in person at the time of admission?
A. Yes.
Q2. Can I enroll for a certificate course along with regular graduate course?
A. Yes, you can do it simultaneously. We have French language course which is open for students from other colleges also.
Q3. Are there any seats for NCC or NSS?
A. Yes one seat each for both has been allocated under ECA (refer college website for distribution of seats)
Q4. Will there be any disadvantage for a gap year student?
A. No.
Q5 Can I get fee concession? What procedure has to be followed?
A. Information about the scholarships offered by the college is on the website. You can apply once you are admitted into the college.
Q6 What prospects are there for B.A(Prog) options with commerce subjects?
A. There is a scope in the fields of Advertising, Digital marketing, Supply chain, Marketing management, E-procurement, Public relations etc.
Q7 Is it compulsory to include maths in best four for B. Com(H) and Economics (H)?
A. The candidate must have studied maths as a subject and cleared it in 12th class. For its inclusion in the best four University Admission Bulletin 2020 will give the latest information.
Q8 How has the Commerce students performed with regard to placements?
A. Our students have been well placed in renowned organisations such as Wipro, KPMG, Ernst And Young, Google Evalueserve, SBI Life Insurance, Capital IQ, ICICI Bank, Toyota, Hero Motors, Trident Group, Genpact ITC Foods Division, Advertising Agencies: McCann, Dentsu, Marketing companies and in teaching jobs. From the batch of 2019, 70% students have gone for higher studies such as MBA, M Com, CA and many are studying abroad.
Q9 How many computer labs are available?
A. We have three computer labs for commerce students. The college labs are well equipped.
Q10. Are there any initiatives taken by the college for add-on courses?
A. Yes, various deptts conduct such courses. In 2019 an Add-on Course ‘Certification in Equity Trading and Investment’ by ICICI Direct (Centre for Financial Learning) was undertaken.
Q11. What are the measures taken by the College for upgrading student’s knowledge?
A. Knowledge enhancement is core to our colleges’ culture. Such initiatives include regular lectures from industry and academic experts, industrial visits, field trips, research projects, internships and placement etc.
Q12. Is there a stream change deduction in the %? If yes, how much?
A. No, there is no deduction for the stream change. Subject not studied, if it is included in best of four, there will be a deduction as notified by the University (for detailed instructions wait for University Admission Bulletin)
Q13.Does Kamala Nehru add 1% for girl student as prescribed by Delhi University?
A. No. It applies to the Co-educational colleges.
Q14 For the ECA admissions do we register in the first round or have to do so in all the following rounds?
A. It will depend on the instructions from the Delhi University admissions committee and their decision prevails.
Q15. If I enroll in Geography (Hons) what other minor subjects I will be studying in various semesters?
